The sound of music...USO style

 Bugle Boy from Company B

at arms

Saturday's USO Show in Library Park was a grand treat. Nostalgic, sure. Rockin' out to Mustang Sally, who knew? A soulful rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Waters, oh my. And for those veterans who actually served their country, there was a great military medley to cover all branches of the service. We lucked out on the weather too. Warm with a mild breeze like a gentle fan. To top it off, every generation attended, along with a few cute dogs too. Thanks so much to the Monrovia League for sponsoring this terrific salute to warriors past and present. It added to the general festivities of Monrovia Day in the Park.

An Old-Fashioned USO Show for Monrovia Day

This special treat is the Library's contribution to Monrovia Day. So don't forget to walk around the Library to the West side of the park and seat yourself in front of the Bandshell for a step back in time through music and narration. This show honors all service personnel, past and present.

Best Library Proposal Ever - at least so far

One of our Tech Center volunteers had a very special proposal at the library the other day. Her very clever, not to mention romantic, boyfriend hid clues around the library. She had to follow the clues to the big reveal in the Storytime Room to find the big question
We're delighted to report she accepted, the dress is purchased, the tux is rented, and next weekend they will be blissfully dancing to whatever it is kids dance to these days. Congratulations!
