Job Seekers All-Day Event

Steps to Employment (10 to 11:30 a.m.)
This timely workshop teaches how to file an online unemployment application, find jobs via social networking and access a multitude of free resources for job hunters.

A demonstration of the Career Transitions 24/7 online resource walks users through the entire job search process.

BONUS: An EDD representative will be there to answer questions and give advice.

Hot Resumes (1:00 to 2:30 p.m.)
Don’t know where to start? Learn how to emphasize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses with an attention-grabbing resume. Learn formats, helpful key phrases, and you can show a prospective employer what you can do for them.

Not sure about the one you’ve started? Bring your resume to this workshop for helpful advice.

Ace the Interview & Dress for Success (3:00 to 4:30 p.m)
Put your best foot forward by understanding the rules of the interviewing game. Beginning with wardrobe, role-playing actual interview questions, and learning what is legal to ask and what is not, you will gain needed confidence to ace an interview
